The power of writing
It was about a decade ago that this blog was born and it is not unfair to call it powerful. Its power, however, resides not in how it impacted the world outside, but how each and every post had an effect on me, the writer. Somehow through the years, it lost a sense of priority when life brought upon more demanding activities, yet it was left alone albeit not forgotten. It was never erased, it was never deleted, and if the statistical trackers remain working as they should, it still gets a random visit every now and then. Such is the power of writing, when words typed thousands of days ago can one day be found and re-read again, and appear fresh to some new eyes.
Sometimes the power of writing is a duty, as in this case, a class assignment for my final course in my Masters Degree. And that is the reason why this blog post is put in type today, although rather than reason, it should be called catalyst. The class assignment is the catalyst for this post to be put in type today. Because the power of writing is more than a collection of words placed in a specific format.
See, it is quite important in this day and age to understand that the power of writing is such, that the world is attentively listen to a few words, or better yet, to a few dozen characters. One by one the letters are laid threatening to vaporize millions in a single tweet, and dictating foreign policy bit by bit. Such is the power of writing, that in the right hands, it can show the power of a person to impact the world for good, it can move and touch the core of our emotions, and in the hands of a person with power, it can impact the world, it can create a news cycle, it can show us, that the power of writing ought to be in purposeful hands.
Instead, we are sometimes left to understand the mind best positioned to shape the world through words like these, and the mind that shapes this blog through words like these.
